Media and Outreach Officer. Full time

IEA is seeking a Media and Outreach Officer to join our team at the IEA in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

This is a new position and the successful candidate will be expected to bring an entrepreneurial approach to the role. Reporting to the Communications Officer, who is in turn line-managed by the Director of IEA Amsterdam, the Media and Outreach Officer will be responsible for media relations and public dissemination of IEA’s research, with a particular focus on policymakers. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to shape the public outreach strategy of a large, international organization.

Early-Stage Researcher (PhD candidate). Full time (40 hrs/week).

The Research and Analysis Unit at the IEA Hamburg seeks an early-stage researcher for a European funded project, commencing 1 August 2018. This is a full-time, three-year contract. The researcher must commit to undertake a PhD while employed by the IEA, and will be enrolled in the PhD program at Katholieke Universiteit (KU) Leuven or Technische Universiteit (TU) Dortmund. Candidates should already have a Master’s degree in education science, educational policy, economics, sociology, or a related discipline (obtained at the latest by July 2018).

Applications and attached documents should be submitted in English, as a single PDF, and should include a cover letter, OCCAM confirmation on eligibility (see www.etn-occam.eu); curriculum vitae; transcript of records listing the exams/courses taken at university, grades/marks awarded, and (if applicable) and the final degree result; a copy of the candidate's MA/MSc thesis (if incomplete at the date of application, please include the table of contents and at least one chapter); two letters of recommendation; and a comprehensive research proposal.

IEA Hamburg is looking for several Test Managers throughout Germany.

Post‐doctoral Researcher in Education/Psychometrics. Full time (40 hrs/week).

The IEA has an immediate opening for a Post-doctoral Researcher with a background in psychology, education with quantitative focus, or statistics (or a closely related discipline) to support our Research and Analysis Unit in our office in Hamburg, Germany.

The IEA is looking for a Lead Software Developer to support the Software Unit in our office in Hamburg, Germany.

Our academic visitor program


The IEA welcomes academic visitors who wish to benefit from IEA Hamburg's vibrant research culture, and gain experience with IEA's international research activities. The program exists to build links and encourage collaboration with other research organizations around the world, enabling academics and practitioners the opportunity to work together on joint research projects, and exchange ideas and expertise with our own resident research staff. This is an opportunity to work closely with IEA researchers in our Hamburg office, who will endeavor to provide support and help develop your own research goals.
