IEA Membership
IEA currently has 62 members. Most of these represent national systems, although a few countries have representation for more than one educational system. To join IEA, a national institute or agency needs to be associated with a strong research tradition, with links to educational researchers and practitioners. Requirements also include close working relationships with national policy-makers, and ties to national research funding agencies.
Each IEA member institute or agency is responsible for:
- Implementing IEA studies within their countries.
- Raising funds for national project costs and international coordination.
- Disseminating findings from IEA studies to a broad audience of government officials, policy-makers, researchers and educators.
