IEA studies are conducted on a wide range of topics in education. Both member and non-member countries are welcome to join.
The activities of the association are carried out at the IEA Secretariat in Amsterdam and IEA Data Processing and Research Center in Hamburg.

TIMSS 2015
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study 2015
TIMSS 2015, the sixth cycle in a 20-year time span, will assess primary and middle school students' mathematics and science achievement. The first NRC meeting will take place in February 2013.

TIMSS Advanced 2015
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study Advanced
Previously conducted in 1995 and 2008, the study will assess final-year secondary students' achievement in advanced mathematics and physics. The first NRC meeting will take place in February 2013 (together with TIMSS 2015).

PIRLS 2016
Progress in International Reading Literacy Study 2016
PIRLS 2016, fourth in the cycle (2001, 2006, and 2011) of assessments of reading comprehension at the primary school level, will be initiated at the first NRC meeting in March 2013.
