IEA studies are conducted on a wide range of topics in education. Both member and non-member countries are welcome to join.
The activities of the association are carried out at the IEA Secretariat in Amsterdam and IEA Data Processing and Research Center in Hamburg.

TIMSS 2015
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study 2015
TIMSS 2015, the sixth assessment of mathematics and science achievement in a 20-year span, was initiated at the first NRC meeting in February 2013, together with TIMSS Numeracy.

TIMSS Advanced 2015
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study Advanced
Previously conducted in 1995 and 2008, the study will assess final-year secondary students' achievement in advanced mathematics and physics. The first NRC meeting took place in February 2013, together with TIMSS 2015.

PIRLS 2016
Progress in International Reading Literacy Study 2016
PIRLS 2016, fourth in the cycle (2001, 2006, and 2011) of assessments of reading comprehension at the primary school level, was initiated at the first NRC meeting in February 2013, together with prePIRLS 2016.

ICCS 2016
International Civic and Citizenship Education Study 2016
ICCS 2016 will investigate the ways in which young people are prepared to undertake their roles as citizens and monitor trends since the previous cycle in 2009. The first NRC meeting will take place in June 2013.
ECES
Early Childhood Education Study
ECES will explore, describe, and analyze early childhood education provision and its role in preparing children for the learning and social demands of school. The first NRC meeting will take place in July 2013.
