IEA contributions at ECER 2019

IEA will have an active presence at the European Educational Research Association’s annual conference including hosting an information stand, a workshop and contributing special presentations.

IEA is pleased to be participating in the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) 2019: 'Education in an Era of Risk – the Role of Educational Research for the Future'

Throughout the week, we will host an IEA information stand at the conference and we are proud to support the ECER "Going Green" initiative as a sponsor.

On Tuesday, 3rd September, Wolfram Schulz (ACER) will present a paper on Young People’s Expectations To Participate In Legal And Illegal Activities To Express Their Opinions. Findings From ICCS 2016. Justin Wild (IEA) and Agnes Stancel-Piątak (IEA) will present a paper on Measurement invariance testing of cross-cultural constructs in TIMSS and PIRLS.

Also on Tuesday, Falk Brese (IEA) and Wolfram Schulz will host a workshop on Teachers' Views and Perceptions towards Civic Education, focusing on using ICCS data.

On Friday, 6th September, IEA will host a special lunch time meet and greet session on open-source publishing opportunities with IEA. Attendees will learn about the opportunities available through our journal (Large-scale Assessments in Education), open-access book series (IEA Research for Education) and the IEA Compass: Briefs in Education series along with the communication and dissemination support that IEA offers to authors. Attendees will have the chance to address their queries to the key people behind each of these initiatives. A light lunch will also be provided.
