REDS Online Informational Session

14:00 - 15:00 CEST

It is with great pleasure that IEA and UNESCO invite you to an upcoming virtual informational session for all education systems interested in participating in the Responses to Educational Disruption Survey (REDS) study.

To register to the online event, please complete the below form by 14 August. A GoToMeeting access link will be shared following registration.

What has become clearer than ever throughout the COVID-19 crisis is the value of knowledge and of data. According to UNESCO, more than 90% of all learners were affected by school closures caused by COVID-19 at the peak of the disruption, leading to an urgency for reliable data, and fast.

REDS intends to collect internationally comparable data from school principals, teachers, and students, on how countries and schools are prepared for distance learning in times of school closures, as well as during a possible and subsequent reopening phase, including what measures were implemented to provide all students with the opportunity to continue learning. The aim of the study is to provide policymakers and other stakeholders with evidence-based learnings on how best to maneuver in times of crisis.

Given the fast-paced nature of this study, we are inviting high-ranking policy officers, policymakers, and donor organizations interested in knowing more about REDS to join an informational session on 19 August at 14:00 CEST. During the one-hour online session we will share in-depth information about the content of the study, including timelines, and there will be time for key questions to be answered. The final deadline for countries to confirm their interest in participating in REDS is 31 August, 2020.

On behalf of IEA and Mr Borhene Chakroun, Director, Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, UNESCO, we look forward to welcoming you to the upcoming REDS informational session.
