Updates to IEA’s advisory committees

IEA’s committees are comprised of international leaders in educational assessment who kindly donate their time and expertise to help develop and enhance our activities.

The Technical Executive Group is consulted on all technical aspects of study implementation, from survey design and instrument construction, to sampling and statistical analysis. The work of the committee involves close cooperation with the international study directors and other study officers.

We thank Dr Norman Verhelst (Eurometrics, The Netherlands) who recently retired from the TEG after many years of dedicated service. We are delighted to welcome  Professor Irini Moustaki (London School of Economics, UK) as our new TEG member.

The Publications and Editorial Committee provides expert review and guidance to ensure the high quality of IEA publications. Members of PEC have considerable experience with educational assessment and IEA studies, and are involved at all stages of the publication process. We thank retiring PEC members Dr Jonthan Plucker (John Hopkins University, USA) and Professor Fernando Reimers (Harvard University, USA) for their dedicated service.

We are pleased to welcome four new members to PEC:

  • Professor Sarah Howie, Stellenbosch University, South Africa
  • Dr Maia Miminoshvili, Educational Policy and Research Association, Georgia
  • Mr Franck Salles, Ministry of Education, France
  • Dr Andres Sandoval Hernandez, University of Bath, UK
