AERA announces 2020 Annual Meeting change.
In response to the global pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and in consideration of the health and safety of conference participants, the AERA council voted to cancel the on-site portion of the AERA 2020 Annual Conference in San Francisco.
Instead, AERA are shifting to a virtual meeting with the goal of providing an authentic and meaningful experience for those who had expected to attend. It is anticipated that the major lectures and other special features of the invited program, including select presidential and division-planned sessions, will be available streamed live in real time, and AERA are in the process of exploring making these sessions available on demand for “attendees.”
At this year's AERA, Francis Howard Lim Huang, University of Missouri; Amy H. Rathbun, American Institutes for Research; Sabine Meinck, International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement; Sakiko Ikoma, American Institutes for Research; Bitnara Jasmine Park, American Institutes for Research; Yuan Zhang, American Institutes for Research had planned to deliver the workshop: Multilevel Modeling With International Large-Scale Assessment Databases Using The HLM Software Program.
In light of the recent announcement, we will be following the progress of the virtual AERA 2020 Annual Meeting and publishing updates around the workshop as and when we receive further information.
