The below information sets out the Terms & Conditions between the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Education, and you, when registering for the IEA IRC 2021 (16-18 November 2021). By registering for the IEA IRC 2021 (including the workshops), you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.
If you do not accept the Terms & Conditions you should not register for the IEA IRC 2021. Submission of a registration is regarded as your acceptance of the IEA IRC 2021 Terms & Conditions.
The IEA IRC 2021 organizing committee (hereinafter called IEA IRC 2021) is committed to data privacy and protecting your personal information. By submitting your email address during the conference registration process, you agree that IEA IRC 2021 may send you conference-related information. A valid email address is required for all registrations.
IEA IRC 2021 uses the personal data you provide in this registration for administering your participation in this conference. This may include information about the conference content, logistics, payment, updates, and additional information related to this conference as well as the next one.
IEA IRC 2021 will not disclose your personal data to any other third party without your consent except where required to do so by law.
IEA IRC 2021 prohibits discrimination, harassment, and bullying against any participant (attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, staff member, service provider, or organizer) for any reason—for example, because of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, appearance, matriculation, political affiliation, marital status, or veteran status.
IEA IRC 2021 is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants (attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, staff members, service providers, and organizers). IEA IRC 2021 has no tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form. Participants are expected to adhere to these principles and respect the rights of others.
Please ensure you take care of your personal possessions during the conference, as the IEA IRC 2021 cannot accept any liability for them.
If you agree to be an author, speaker, or to act as a chair or discussant, we will share your name and affiliation with the conference attendees. We will post the information in the IEA IRC 2021 program (either paper-based or on a mobile application) so that all conference attendees (including chairs and discussants) can approach you with questions, feedback, or requests for more information.
To comply with international and national data privacy laws, IEA IRC 2021 imposes certain restrictions on the use of multimedia at its conferences (e.g., photography, video, audio, online streaming, and all future mediums). A participant is permitted to use hand-held cameras and/or smartphones to take photographs and capture digital images for personal, non-commercial use, provided the photography is not disruptive. Photographs may not be published, sold, reproduced, transmitted, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.
IEA IRC 2021 may hire professional service providers (photo/video/streaming/audio) to document and display the conference experience. IEA IRC 2021 may also use social media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook) to: (i) post-real-time photos and videos to its social media feeds; and (ii) display select submissions from those feeds on screens throughout the conference venue. Participants are encouraged to capture their conference experiences and post their own social content from the conference (text, photos, audio, video, streaming), provided it does not infringe upon the rights of any attendee, third party, IEA, or the Ministry of Education UAE. Such infringement would include but is not limited to, defamation or infringement of intellectual property rights. In the event an attendee requires a release or permission to protect the rights of a third party, obtaining such a release or permission shall be the sole responsibility of the participant.
By attending the IEA IRC 2021, you acknowledge and agree to the following: (a) IEA IRC 2021 may edit and use footage it captures at the conference for communication activities and for any other lawful purpose in the ordinary course of its business; and (b) due to the prevalence of mobile recording devices in today’s world, IEA IRC 2021 disclaims all liability for the capture of your image in any multimedia format by other participants at the conference.
Please be aware that we cannot accommodate any wishes regarding date or time of when your submission will be presented. Authors are expected to attend the conference in person to present their accepted proposals.
You acknowledge that the venue, timings, speakers, and program of the conference are subject to reasonable changes.
IEA IRC 2021 reserves the right to change, amend, add, or remove any of the above Terms & Conditions in its sole discretion and without prior notice. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should become invalid, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all conference participants (speakers, chairs, discussants, exhibitors, and staff from IEA and Ministry of Education UAE).
The views expressed by any IEA IRC 2021 participant, speaker, chair, discussant, or exhibitor are not necessarily those of IEA IRC 2021. All participants, speakers, chairs, discussants, and exhibitors are solely responsible for the content of all individual or organization presentations, marketing collateral, and/or advertising.
