64th IEA General Assembly Meeting Roundup

The 64th General Assembly Meeting successfully wrapped up following three days of insightful and collaborative sessions.

Hosted by DEPP (Statistical Department of the French Ministry of Education), the 64th annual meeting of the General Assembly (GA) took place in Versailles from 25–27 September.

The IEA GA meets annually to review IEA projects and studies and discuss critical topics that impact ILSAs in education, serving as a platform for dialogue and an exchange of experiences on disseminating IEA study results.

Advancing research and innovation is key to the work of IEA. This year we were delighted to hear from awardees of the IEA R&D Fund, as well as Research Award Winner, Dr. Erika Majoros from the University of Gothenburg on their thesis that uses TIMSS data to develop procedures to compare mathematics and science achievement and motivation scales over a long time period.

Thank you to all GA members and guests for their active participation and plethora of ideas. IEA looks forward to welcoming you to the next GA meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2024!
