IEA Supports Professorship at the University of Hamburg

We are pleased to share that IEA has decided to strengthen their partnership with the University of Hamburg by supporting a professorship position at the University.

IEA has a long lasting connection with the University of Hamburg which dates back to the first IEA studies when Neville Postlethwaite—a professor at the University of Hamburg—was involved in the IEA SISS and later study director for the IEA RL study. From the data processing unit of the IEA RL study, IEA Hamburg emerged. Later the good relationship continued with Knut Schwippert being the TIMSS NRC for Germany and IEA Hamburg taking over the field work in Germany. Also other projects were successfully conducted in close cooperation with professors from the University of Hamburg like Ingrid Gogolin.

With this new step, IEA wishes to formalize the relationship more closely. The position is meant to cooperate closely with the IEA Hamburg Research and Analysis Unit. Cooperation may include joint research projects in the field of international school-performance assessment as well as collaboration in designing longitudinal studies.

The vacancy is currently announced on the Universität Hamburg website here.
