The IEA-ETS Research Institute (IERI) organized an Academy on conducting secondary data analysis using international large-scale assessment databases from the IEA TIMSS and the OECD PISA studies.
This Academy was carried out using a mixed-mode of delivery, with a combination of online videos, live presentations, group discussions with Q&A sessions and online tutoring and support.
During the Academy we covered the different components from these studies, the analysis methods and procedures applicable when analyzing the data, and software that has been developed to take into account the statistical complexities of working with these data.
As this was a new modality for delivering the contents, during this Academy we focused on using the most recent TIMSS and PISA databases corresponding to the TIMSS 2019 and PISA 2018 assessment cycles. In following Academies we have expanded the materials to cover additional studies.
