The 7th IEA International Research Conference (IRC-2017) was held from 28–30 June 2017 at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and was preceded by workshops on secondary data analysis on 26–27 June 2017.

The IEA IRC-2017 provided an international forum for all those working with IEA study data to present their findings and exchange views on critical educational research issues in a comparative and global context.
The conference program included contributions based on IEA studies (TIMSS, PIRLS, ICCS, ICILS) in addition to sessions focusing on methodology and policy applications of IEA research.
Four parallel workshops preceded the conference; "Added value. How IEA study participation can meet specific national research interests", "Multilevel modeling with IEA data", "Structural equation modeling using IEA data" and "Bayesian statistics with applications to IEA data".
