IEA, together with the World Education Research Association (WERA) and the research center Literacy in Diversity Settings (LiDS) at the University of Hamburg are pleased to announce a new WERA Visiting Researcher Award call for 2025.
This award enables visiting researchers to develop their own research project while benefiting from the individual support of experts from the partner institutes working in different fields related to international large-scale assessments, with a particular focus on diversity in education. The data provided by the University of Hamburg concerns linguistic diversity and education, and provides the opportunity to explore multilingual development from a longitudinal perspective (The MEZ-Study). The awardee will be privileged with direct access to the data and resources of the partner institutes while conducting their research project.
The visiting researcher will be co-hosted by IEA Hamburg and the University of Hamburg, both located in Hamburg, Germany. Both institutes cooperate on different research projects. The researcher will get the opportunity to spend time at both institutes during their six to eight week visit.
Awardees will receive a grant of € 3,500 to cover their travel, meals, public transport, and other subsistence costs during their stay. The host institutes will provide assistance with locating affordable housing.
