Juliane Hencke appointed as new Director of IEA Hamburg

Juliane Hencke

IEA is pleased to announce that Juliane Hencke has been appointed as the new Director of IEA Hamburg from 1st July 2019.

The appointment follows Heiko Sibberns’ decision to step down from his role as IEA Hamburg Director, a move that will allow him to re-devote his attentions to other aspects within IEA.

Juliane has a wide range of experience and expertise across IEA activities. Since joining IEA in 2000, she has worked across a variety of research, data processing and study director roles. Most recently, Juliane served as the co-head of the International Studies Unit and also a member of the Hamburg Executive Team.

Juliane will also be supported by two Deputy Directors:  Svenja Bundt (Field Operations and HR) and Christian Groth (Finance) have been appointed to these two new positions. They will support the IEA Hamburg Director as part of the leadership team.

Juliane and one of the Deputy Directors will join the existing IEA Directors’ team of Dirk Hastedt (Executive Director), Andrea Netten (IEA Amsterdam Director) and Roel Burgers (Finance Director).
