LaNA 2023 Linking Study International Database Released

IEA and the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development have released the LaNA (Literacy and Numeracy Assessment) 2023 Linking Study International Database (IDB).

The open-access database contains achievement data and contextual data associated with learning factors such as available resources, students’ learning experiences, and the learning environment.

Data files in R, SPSS, and SAS are available for all countries that participated in the LaNA 2023 Linking Study. The data can be analyzed with the IEA IDB Analyzer, a downloadable application that facilitates analyses of data from large-scale assessments.

The LaNA 2023 Linking Study User Guide has also been published. The User Guide describes the content and format of the IDB and provides a comprehensive overview of how to work with the IDB Analyzer software.

About LaNA:

LaNA measures basic reading and mathematics skills at the primary school level. Its links to TIMSS and PIRLS enable participants to benchmark their students’ mathematics and reading achievements against an international scale with a flexible, easy-to-administer assessment.
