IEA Senior Research and Liaison Advisor, Dr Paulína Koršňáková has published a new article on the Global Development Blog in which she advocates for the importance of investing in an d learning from the results of international large-scale assessments.
" ILSAs can be described as a health check for an education system. They identify the symptoms, not the cure. Nobody expects newly arrived blood test results somehow to start the healing process for a patient automatically. The tests can diagnose a problem; a doctor must then decide on treatment. The treatment is based on the patient’s condition, not the pills prescribed to their neighbor."
