Remembering Kimmo Leimu – Honorary Member

Kimmo has provided immeasurable value to the education research community since 1967, where he led the evaluation research group at the Institute for Educational Research at the University of Jyväskylä.

He has been instrumental in the development of education research and developing an understanding of Finland’s education system and was dedicated to IEA’s Six Subject Survey. Kimmo was an esteemed member of the IEA community and served as an IEA General Assembly representative for over 20 years. He gave his time as a member of the IEA Standing Committee, Chaired the IEA Training Committee, and provided critical and helpful feedback on IEA’s publications as a member of the Publications and Editorial Committee.

Our thoughts are with Kimmo’s family and friends at this difficult time.
