Remembering Monica Rosén - TEG Member

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Professor Monica Rosén's passing on the morning of 29 August 2024. As a distinguished member of IEA’s Technical Executive Group (TEG) and a Professor in the Department of Education and Special Education at the University of Gothenburg, Professor Rosén's loss is profoundly felt by her colleagues, students, and the wider academic community. 

Professor Rosén was a cherished friend of IEA and an integral part of TEG. Her remarkable contributions to the field of education research were widely recognized, and her scholarly work has left a lasting mark on the academic world. Her expertise, wisdom, and dedication were evident in the numerous academic publications she authored, and her absence will be deeply felt. 

Her research focused on educational outcomes at individual, group, and system levels, exploring the factors contributing to differences and changes over time. Professor Rosén was deeply involved in national and international large-scale assessments of student outcomes, making significant contributions to our understanding of educational systems worldwide.

 Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
