National Institute of Pedagogical Skills Named After A. Avloniy Voted as New IEA Member

The General Assembly has ratified the membership of the National Institute of Pedagogical Skills named after A. Avloniy at the 67th IEA General Assembly meeting in Warsaw, Poland. 

The General Assembly ratified the membership following the Institute’s application for membership. Uzbekistan has been actively engaged in IEA studies since 2021, including participation in PIRLS 2021 and 2026, TIMSS 2023 and 2027, as well as IEA’s Responses to Educational Disruption Study (REDS) during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. 

Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Dirk Hastedt said: 

“I am delighted to welcome Uzbekistan as an IEA member. Having participated over the years in IEA studies, including PIRLS, TIMSS, and REDS, Uzbekistan has made a valuable and longstanding contribution to our work. I look forward to building on this collaboration and to the Institute’s continued engagement as an IEA member.”
