IEA invites education systems to join the next cycle of our Trends in Mathematics and Science Study, TIMSS 2023.
Directed by the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center at Boston College, TIMSS is an international assessment of student achievement in mathematics and science at fourth and eighth grades. Measuring trends in achievement since 1995, TIMSS data have enabled countries around the world to make evidence-based decisions to improve educational policies related to mathematics and science teaching and learning.
Like the previous TIMSS assessments, TIMSS 2023 will collect detailed information about curriculum and curriculum implementation, instructional practices, and school resources. A new feature of TIMSS 2023 will be an innovative, group adaptive design that allows for a better alignment of the assessment with the student populations in the participating countries.
