IRC 2025 - Submissions

The call for submissions for the IEA International Research Conference 2025 (IEA IRC) is open. We invite you to submit a proposal for individual papers, symposia, or posters that aligns with your research interests. The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2024 at 11:59pm CET.

Submissions must be relevant to IEA work, based on IEA data and fit one of the conference strands:

  • Methodology (for contributions concerned with analytical methods, their effective use and improvement, as well as advancement of IEA studies)
  • Policy (for contributions offering insights for all stakeholders in the field of education who need to make decisions and would like to base them on data)
  • Practice (for contributions that provide actionable knowledge for teachers, parents, or other educators)
  • IEA Studies (for contributions devoted to secondary analysis of a particular IEA study)

The language of the conference is English, and all submissions are required to be in English.

Please read the Submissions Guidelines for full details on proposal guidelines and requirements, as well as the information and conditions outlined in the Terms and Conditions page before submitting your proposal.

Proposals can be submitted online through the conference submission system ConfTool. Authors of accepted proposals are expected to attend the conference in person in Rome, Italy, on 25–27 June 2025. The conference participation fee is 170 euros.

The registration deadline for presenters is 18 April 2025, and the registration deadline for all other participants is 9 May 2025. You can register for the IRC here

Important note regarding the Jubilee of 2025

Please note: As the Catholic Church will be celebrating the Jubilee in 2025, we anticipate accommodation options across Rome being reserved quickly, as well as price increases. We therefore strongly recommend reserving accommodation as soon as your submission to the IEA IRC has been made.

For your convenience, IEA has arranged negotiated rates at various hotels. The list of hotels and budget accommodation with negotiated rates is available here.

Please note that IEA is not responsible for the arranging of hotel accommodations for IRC attendees, and that these hotels are not affiliated in any way, with IEA and/or the IEA IRC. While the IRC organizing committee negotiated the preferential rates, we are not liable for anything related to attendees’ personal bookings.

Attendees are not restricted to booking accommodation from the list and are welcome to find other accommodation if it suits personal needs better.

Please note, these negotiated rates are based upon availability, and we encourage all attendees to reserve as soon as possible.
