The publicly available database contains an array of eighth-grade achievement and contextual data from the latest ICILS (International Computer and Information Literacy Study) cycle. It aims to support and promote secondary analyses aimed at improving computer and information literacy, the ability to use computers to investigate, create, and communicate in order to participate effectively at school, in the workplace, and in society.
The international database comprises of student achievement data and context questionnaire data for the 35 participating entities and more than 130,000 eighth-grade students, 60,000 teachers, and 5,000 schools who participated in ICILS 2023.
Available in SAS, SPSS, and R the ICILS International Database is accompanied by the IEA International Database Analyzer, a downloadable application developed by IEA to facilitate the analyses of ICILS data and data from other large-scale assessments.

The ICILS 2023 Technical Report is forthcoming and will be released later in 2025.
ICILS 2023 was the third cycle of the ICILS study. Preparations are underway for ICILS 2028, enrollment is open for interested countries.
