Prof. Ina V.S. Mullis

Executive Director, TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center, Boston College
Dr. Ina Mullis is a Professor at Boston College in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development's Department of Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment. Over her 20 years with IEA, Dr. Mullis has played a key leadership role as Executive Director of the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center in building TIMSS and PIRLS into the global assessment programs they are today.

Dr. Michael O. Martin

Dr. Michael “Mick” Martin was the Executive Director of the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center and Research Professor at Boston College until 2021. He has been a member of IEA’s Technical Executive Group since its inception. Before joining Boston College in 1994, he was a Research Fellow at the Educational Research Centre at St. Patrick’s College, Dublin, directed Ireland’s national surveys of student achievement, and served as Ireland’s national project representative for international student surveys.

Prof. Matthias von Davier

Matthias von Davier is the J. Donald Monan, S.J., Professor in Education at the Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College (BC), and also serves as an executive director at the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center. Prior to joining the faculty at BC, he held the Distinguished Research Scientist position at the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), in Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Jostein Ryssevik

Jostein Ryssevik is the CEO and founder of ideas2evidence. Jostein has more than 25 years of experience from social science data production, management, analysis and dissemination, including the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD). He is an expert in research methods and statistics and has written textbooks and developed software in these areas.

Henry Braun is the Boisi Professor of Education and Public Policy, and director of the Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy, at the Lynch School of Education Boston College. Professor Braun specializes in testing and education policy; large-scale assessment surveys and achievement gaps; value-added modeling; standard setting, and higher education outcomes.
